Building the nervous system of smart cities | Huawei shines at the 19th CHTF

On November 16, the 19th China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) opened at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. Huawei appeared in the Smart City Pavilion with the theme of "New ICT, Building the Nervous System of Smart Cities". The Huawei booth was designed according to the "Virtual Smart City". Visitors can obtain a "City Virtual Card" by scanning a QR code or face recognition, and use it as an identity to experience the "Virtual Smart City" jointly built by Huawei and its ecosystem partners.

Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee Secretary Wang Weizhong visited the Huawei booth for guidance

Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Minister of Science and Technology, Wang Weizhong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, and other leaders came to the Huawei booth, visited the Huawei City Operations Center, Internet of Vehicles, Huawei Smart City Capability Wall and other exhibition islands, listened to Huawei's smart city construction practices in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Weifang and other cities, and praised Huawei's achievements in the field of smart cities.

Zhang Yande, President of Huawei EBG China Smart City Business Unit, said: "On the one hand, smart cities are a vision of urban development to create a better life for the people. On the other hand, they are also a precise entry point to enhance the core competitiveness of cities and continuously promote the development of cities towards high-end. They are of great significance to enhancing urban management efficiency, improving people's happiness and optimizing economic structure. The construction process of smart cities is also the process of urban digital transformation. Huawei's strategy for smart cities is 'platform + ecology, building a smart city nervous system, and facilitating urban digital transformation'. At this booth, Huawei and more than 10 partners in the ecosystem jointly demonstrated scenarios including smart water, smart street lights, smart parks, smart tourism, safe cities, smart government affairs, smart education, and smart healthcare."

Currently, Huawei's smart city solutions have helped build more than 120 smart cities in more than 40 countries around the world. In China, by the end of 2016, Huawei had participated in the construction of 42 smart city projects and signed smart city strategic cooperation agreements with 62 cities.

New ICT, building the nervous system of smart cities

Huawei is committed to building the "nervous system" of smart cities, improving the city's full connectivity capabilities, and realizing the perception, connection and intelligence of all things.

The smart city nervous system not only includes the city brain, but also requires a neural network from the brain to the periphery. From front-end perception, information transmission, brain analysis and decision-making, to feedback instructions and completion of actions, a complete neural network is needed to achieve a closed loop. Huawei uses a series of technologies such as cloud computing, the Internet of Things, big data, and artificial intelligence to build the smart city nervous system, and through the platform's open capabilities, it aggregates partners to jointly provide a comprehensive smart city solution.

City Operations Center: Insight into the city’s “operation indicators”

The Urban Operations Center (IOC) achieves comprehensive perception of the city, cross-connection of information, timely response to problems, efficient cross-departmental collaboration, and scientific decision-making on urban planning and development through cross-departmental and cross-domain data integration and business fusion, creating a smart city management system based on urban data for city managers.

The IOC large screen at the booth presents the overall situation and early warning forecasts under daily urban conditions, joint command under emergency conditions, and big data decision support, allowing city managers to clearly understand the city's "operating indicators" and provide support for management decisions.

Smart Street Light: A Street Light That Doesn’t Look Like a Street Light

Street lights are suitable carriers for building urban Internet of Things. At the smart street light exhibition island, visitors were amazed at how different street lights were.

Taking street light poles as the basic carrier and combining the Internet, Internet of Things, WIFI, sensors, cloud computing, big data, spatial geographic information and other technologies, smart street lights provide environmental support and operation services for application systems in various fields of smart cities, including but not limited to smart lighting, public WIFI, smart charging piles, security monitoring, traffic flow management, smart bus stops, traffic induction, parking induction, roadside parking, solar energy, micro base stations (4G/5G, blind spots), public bicycles, smart trash cans, environmental monitoring, emergency alarms, audio and video information release, comprehensive operation and maintenance, big data decision support, Internet of Things transmission and other management and service systems. Users can choose different application subsystems for combined application according to actual needs.

Safe City: Making Safety Foreseeable

Huawei and its customers work together to manage the entire life cycle of police big data, achieve comprehensive perception through sensitive and multi-dimensional data collection, achieve lossless data transmission through diverse and extremely fast access and transmission methods, strengthen the construction of "one cloud, one pool, one platform", and achieve the decoupling of software and hardware, data and business, and application and function. Huawei also builds a three-dimensional social security prevention and control system with ecological partners to make safety predictable.

Smart government affairs: providing convenience for the people and enhancing government management

At the smart government affairs booth, visitors can experience three business contents: data governance, data presentation, and Internet + government affairs services.

Data governance: Adopt the government logic data model (GLDM) to build a city data resource library, and give full play to the power of big data in the three aspects of "good governance by data", "people's benefit by data" and "business development by data" to address the "pain points" and "difficulties" of people's livelihood, industry and government. Data presentation: Adopt government big data technology to present a panoramic view of the city's industry through thematic analysis of urban economic operation. Internet + government services: Adopt iFlytek's leading AIUI dual-work mode, users can interact with robots through voice to complete administrative approval business services.

Capability Wall: Huawei's strength in building the "nervous system" of smart cities

The booth also carefully designed a Huawei capability wall, which fully demonstrated Huawei's technical strength and "status" in data collection, data transmission, data processing, and data application. Huawei has achieved global leadership in the fields of communications, the Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence. Therefore, Huawei has the strength and ability to build a world-leading "nervous system" for smart city construction.

In addition to the above-mentioned wonderful presentations, you will also experience at the Huawei booth smart water services that make water "flow intelligently", the Internet of Vehicles that allows cars to better understand you, the IoT connection management platform that drives the "nervous system" of the smart city, smart parks that realize smart operation of parks, smart tourism that makes travel convenient, management efficient, and experience comfortable, smart education that promotes education and teaching reforms, and smart medical care that realizes tiered diagnosis and treatment, and other innovative smart applications.

From November 16th to 21st, Huawei's Smart City booth (6B01) in Hall 6 of the High-Tech Fair invites you to fully experience the charm of "smart city".
