China ranks first in the world in many 5G data

On August 31, at the "5G and Industry Application Standardization Forum" of the 3rd World 5G Conference, Han Xia, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that China currently accounts for more than 70% of the world's 5G base stations, and 5G application innovation cases have exceeded 10,000. The number of 5G standard essential patent declarations accounts for more than 38%, and the number of 5G terminal connections accounts for more than 80% of the world, ranking first in the world.

China's 5G base stations are about to exceed one million

Xiao Yaqing, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, revealed that the number of 5G terminal connections in China has reached nearly 400 million, and the number of 5G base stations will exceed one million. In terms of the number of users, in the first half of this year, China Mobile's 5G package users reached 251 million, with a penetration rate of 26.5%; China Telecom's 5G package users reached 131 million, with a penetration rate of 36.2%; China Unicom's 5G package users reached 113 million, with a penetration rate of 37%.

Huawei completes the world's first 5G high and low frequency CA

On September 6, according to the WeChat public account "5G Promotion Group", Huawei and industry partners recently completed the world's first 5G high-low frequency CA (Carrier Aggregation) laboratory test, achieving a single-user download rate of 5.2Gbps. This also means that CA technology has been technically verified in high-low frequency coordination, taking a solid step towards the future large-scale commercial use of millimeter waves.

China's first 5G unmanned airship successfully tested

In early September, according to the official Weibo account of China Mobile, the "5G Caiyun No. 1" unmanned airship jointly developed by China Mobile Yunnan Company, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics Yunnan Innovation Research Institute, and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. successfully completed the test mission in Yuanmou, Chuxiong, becoming the first successful case in the country of carrying a 5G base station by an unmanned airship.

Guangdong has initially formed the largest 5G industry cluster

According to data from relevant departments, as of the first half of the year, Guangdong Province has built 131,000 5G base stations and 27.399 million 5G mobile phone users, ranking first in the country in terms of base stations and users. It has more than 1,600 5G-related companies, including 5G industry leaders such as Huawei, ZTE, and Higer Communications, and has initially formed the world's largest 5G industry cluster.

Shandong has built and opened 73,000 5G base stations

The "Starting the Dual Gigabit Digital New Shandong" theme event held by the Shandong Provincial Communications Administration recently revealed that as of now, Shandong has built and opened 73,000 5G base stations, and all counties (cities and districts) have achieved continuous coverage of key urban areas. According to the plan, by the end of 2023, Shandong will have built 180,000 5G base stations, with 5G users accounting for 50%.

China Unicom releases "5G lightweight all-in-one" and other products

On September 17, China Unicom held a 5G+ Industrial Internet new product launch conference in Guangzhou with the theme of "Industrial Transformation and Upgrading 5G Sets Sail", and officially released the "5G Lightweight All-in-One Machine" and "Smart Manufacturing Cloud 5G Tianji Platform". The platform has achieved breakthroughs in lightweight, low cost, easy deployment, and high reliability, making the "plug and play" 5G private network service of enterprises within reach.

OPPO and Ericsson work together to promote 5G network evolution

On September 22, OPPO unveiled its "secret weapon" for the first launch of many 5G technologies - OPPO Communication Lab, and worked with Ericsson to fully upgrade the lab. It is reported that OPPO Communication Lab has now achieved 5G full-process development and testing, from the underlying RF front-end, software protocol updates to regional joint debugging and testing, which can ensure that many of the latest 5G technologies are first adapted to OPPO mobile phones.

Domestic 5G mobile phone sales and shipments reached 227 million units

On September 22, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released data showing that in August this year, the domestic market shipped 24.306 million mobile phones, a year-on-year decrease of 9.7%. 5G mobile phone shipments reached 176.88 billion units, a year-on-year increase of 9.4%, accounting for 72.8% of total shipments. As of the end of August, the domestic market shipped 168 million 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year increase of 79.7%, accounting for 74.1% of total shipments.
