In 2022, 5G construction has made breakthrough progress, and 5G application projects have developed from "model houses" to "commercial houses", ushering in the stage of large-scale replication. Major operators, equipment manufacturers, and vertical industry companies have actively carried out application innovation based on 5G networks. As of the first half of this year, there have been more than 20,000 5G industry application innovation cases. In order to encourage more 5G industry applications to emerge, Communication World All Media has sorted out the "Top Ten Benchmarks of 5G Industry Practices in 2022" to show the style of my country's 5G industry application development. 1. CATL's "5G+Smart Factory"The CATL 5G Smart Factory Project has built the largest enterprise 5G private network in China, covering an area of over 5 million square meters, across six provinces (cities) including Fujian, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Guangdong, Shanghai and Qinghai. It innovatively uses technologies such as "2.6GHz + 4.9GHz dual-band networking", "5G UPF + Kite solution" and "National 5G Private Network Management Platform". The combination of 5G network with high-speed motion video stream AI detection, intelligent maintenance prediction system, intelligent logistics dispatching system and other applications has not only promoted CATL's "smart transformation" to achieve green and low-carbon development, but also laid a solid foundation for its goal of moving towards a "full connection + extreme manufacturing" smart factory. 2. 5G empowers COOEC to build the first "smart factory" for offshore oil and gas equipment manufacturingAs my country's first "smart factory" for offshore oil and gas equipment, COOEC Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Base vigorously promotes the construction of a "5G+MEC (edge computing)" virtual private network to achieve full coverage of 5G signals at the base. The 5G network connects the base's digital intelligent manufacturing control system and intelligent manufacturing production line, forming an efficient neural information network connecting the "smart brain" and "developed muscles", allowing production data to enter the "highway" of information transmission. The base integrates 5G technology and smart equipment, and actively builds a "1+2+2+N model" of 5G applications (i.e. one 5G network, two platforms, two types of scenarios, and N applications), creating "smart production" scenarios such as smart production, smart warehousing, and unmanned driving. It also forms product digital delivery capabilities through efficient logistics, AR assistance, AI compliance monitoring, and drone inspections, which completely changes the traditional offshore oil and gas equipment manufacturing and production model, and greatly improves production efficiency, operational safety, and quality stability. 3. Jinka Smart Gas 5G System ProjectThe "Jinka Smart Smart Gas 5G System Project" of Jinka Smart Group Co., Ltd. is a smart gas solution and fully connected future factory built based on 5G. On the one hand, the 5G smart gas solution built by Jinka Smart is based on the pipeline network GIS and BIM. Through the processing of more than 20 elements such as plants, emergency stations, pipelines, vehicles, and personnel, it is applied in nine aspects such as a picture, alarm perception, and risk prediction, so as to achieve "vertical to the bottom and horizontal to the edge", forming a digital gas safety lifeline to escort urban gas safety. On the other hand, Jinka Smart produces 5G smart gas terminals through the "5G+ Smart Manufacturing Factory", which not only reduces costs and increases efficiency for enterprises, but also provides users with high-quality and safer products. IV. 5G-enabled urban water services high-quality operation application demonstration projectShenzhen Environment Water Group aims to build a healthy, resilient and efficient urban water system. In response to industry pain points such as difficulty in operation and maintenance inspection, monitoring and early warning, emergency response, and difficulty in coping with the surge in users with manpower, Shenzhen Environment Water Group relies on "5G+Deep Water Cloud Brain" and uses 5G capsule robots, 5G portable base stations, 5G AI robot inspections, 5G messages and other technologies and products to carry out 5G full-scenario application practices, focusing on improving the full-chain operation and maintenance capabilities of urban water affairs, all-time and space monitoring and early warning capabilities, and full-scenario emergency command and combat capabilities. It has also created a service concept of "fast response, warm service, and precise connection" to help promote the refined and intelligent upgrade of urban water management. 5. 5G helps Tianjin Port build a smart, green, world-class portTianjin Port is the maritime gateway of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, a strategic fulcrum of the "Belt and Road Initiative", and one of China Unicom's important strategic partners in the port field. Tianjin Unicom has worked with Tianjin Port to build a 5G smart port with ingenuity, adopting the construction method of "production and transformation", and has successively overcome many difficulties in the construction of world-class smart ports. It has implemented four innovative application scenarios: 5G smart unmanned container trucks, 5G quay crane remote control, 5G smart tallying, and 5G smart unlocking stations. It has been approved as the world's first port autonomous driving demonstration zone, and achieved the world's first land-side "one-click container landing" under the unmanned container truck scenario. It has realized the "internal and external management integration" operation of the first domestic container intelligent tallying system, built the world's first container ground intelligent unlocking station, and built the world's first container equipment task integrated management system ETMS. 6. Guangdong Southern Power Grid 5G Smart GridChina Mobile Guangdong Company and China Southern Power Grid, relying on the national "new infrastructure" key project - large-scale application of new 5G technologies for smart grids, have jointly established "5G+Digital Grid" demonstration areas in Guangzhou Nansha and Shenzhen Longgang. They have promoted the integrated development of 5G and digital power grids from the aspects of top-level design of power 5G virtual private networks, key technology research and development, technology verification, industry standards and enterprise standards, security demonstration, and business implementation. They have proposed technologies such as 5G high-precision timing, end-to-end resource guarantee for virtual private networks, 5G LAN transparent transmission, 1% PRB resource reservation, and 5G slice resource self-management. They have fully incubated and verified 54 business scenarios, covering all aspects of power generation, transmission, transformation, distribution, use, and integration, and formed 24 key scenarios for large-scale applications. More than 6,000 5G terminals have been put online, forming a large-scale demonstration effect. 7. Heilongjiang 5G Digital Farm, the “Granary of a Great Country”China Unicom's "Great Granary" 5G Digital Farm Project is based on China Unicom's 5G network and applied to Beidahuang Farm to create a world-leading 5G digital farm, connecting all production elements of "people, land, machinery, objects, and environment" and running through the entire process of "cultivation, management, and harvesting". The project takes production, operation, and management as the core, and builds a "1+1+N" architecture, namely, a 5G core network to complete the "sensory connection and intelligent control" of agricultural production; an agricultural smart brain that integrates IoT, data, business, AI, GIS, and other middle platforms to provide unified platform support and intelligent services; focusing on "black soil protection + unmanned operation" to form "N" 5G smart agricultural applications, activate agricultural development factor resources, improve production efficiency, reduce production costs, and realize all-round innovative scenarios such as black soil prevention and control, unmanned agricultural machinery intelligent operation, etc., to achieve more than 20% savings in water, fertilizer, and pesticide application, more than 10% reduction in labor costs, and 5% to 10% increase in yield per mu. Through the digitalization and intelligent transformation of facilities, equipment, and machinery, 5G will empower thousands of acres of fertile land and realize smart agriculture across the entire industrial chain. 8. “Drilling wells without going down into the well” opens a new chapter of “5G+network industry integration” in the composite scenario of “coal-electricity-oil” of Yanchang PetroleumIn view of the gap in the intelligent construction of oil and gas wells, Shaanxi Unicom and Yanchang Petroleum jointly tackled the well construction technology, carried out the country's first passive electromagnetic metasurface directional enhanced signal industrial test, and took the lead in carrying out 5G+UWB intrinsically safe fusion base station testing, achieving full coverage of 5G signals for intelligent tunneling robot groups. The three-dimensional defense system of "vehicle-road-network-cloud-data" protects the development of smart transportation in the "new infrastructure"China Mobile and Huawei have jointly explored the top-level security architecture and standards, and defined a three-dimensional defense security system of "vehicle-road-network-cloud-number" in the exploration and practice, forming a security solution with layered risk management and shared responsibility. The system takes "5G+C-V2X" connection security as the core, replacing the mainstream single-vehicle vehicle-side security solution, dispelling cross-industry concerns about the safety and reliability of vehicle-road collaboration, and clearing obstacles for the scale development of the industry. The project has output a number of patent standards, completed the application verification of the "new four cross-border" standards of C-V2X of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, is a key national project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in the field of Internet of Vehicles, and has obtained the security pilot project certification of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The three-dimensional security defense architecture created by the project is autonomous, controllable, safe and reliable, which will help the vigorous development of the smart transportation industry, build a secure foundation for the digital economy, and ensure national transportation safety. 10. Bank of Communications 5G Global Intelligent Financial Cloud Private NetworkThe Bank of Communications 5G Global Intelligent Financial Cloud Private Network Project is the first nationwide "5G+Finance" exploration and innovation in the financial industry by the Bank of Communications and Shanghai Telecom and other companies. The project uses emerging technologies such as telecom 5G slicing, back-end routing, SD-WAN, AI, big data, cloud computing and blockchain to help the Bank of Communications accelerate digital transformation and build a new type of secure and ubiquitous financial infrastructure, fully stimulate the business potential of inclusive finance, industrial finance and other businesses, and form a diversified and integrated financial service intelligence reconstruction. The implementation of the project in a series of application scenarios at the Bank of Communications has pushed the use of 5G in the financial industry from the preheating stage to the industry adaptation stage, providing a practical basis for subsequent large-scale promotion. The project team also released the "5G Financial Cloud Private Network Technology and Application White Paper" based on this, deeply exploring the value of 5G network applications in the financial industry and setting a benchmark for 5G technology innovation in the financial industry. |
