On April 1, the fourth plenary meeting of the Internet of Vehicles Industry Development Committee of the National Manufacturing Power Construction Leading Group was held in Beijing. The meeting summarized the progress of the Internet of Vehicles in the past year. The meeting believed that the Internet of Vehicles is a new form of business that deeply integrates advanced manufacturing and modern service industries. The development of the Internet of Vehicles can cultivate new growth points and improve the modernization level of the industrial chain. It is also of great significance to promote traffic safety and improve travel efficiency. Over the past year, the special committee has made systematic arrangements for the Internet of Vehicles. All member units have worked together to overcome difficulties and have achieved remarkable results in policy guidance, standard coordination, technological innovation, and application demonstration.

The meeting reviewed and approved the recent key tasks of the special committee and the division of tasks among departments. The meeting emphasized that the next period will be a critical period for accelerating the deployment and application of the Internet of Vehicles, and the "14th Five-Year Plan" clearly proposes to actively and steadily develop the Internet of Vehicles. All departments and units must conscientiously implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, closely combine with the new situation of the development of the Internet of Vehicles industry, take positive actions, cooperate pragmatically, accurately grasp the new development stage, deeply implement the new development concept, and promote the high-quality development of the Internet of Vehicles industry.

We must seize the historical opportunity and consolidate the development advantages in combination with 5G deployment. We must firmly grasp the historical opportunity of 5G development, strengthen the overall layout and coordinated construction of transportation infrastructure and information infrastructure, and promote the accelerated development of the Internet of Vehicles. We must deepen collaborative innovation and systematically improve the level of the industrial chain. We must strengthen support and guidance for technological innovation in key links, give play to the role of promotion groups and industrial alliances, and enhance competitiveness as a whole. We must adhere to the "combination of strips and blocks", implement key projects such as the Internet of Vehicles transformation of the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway in the "strips", and promote the creation of national-level Internet of Vehicles pilot zones in key areas in the "blocks", fully combine the Internet of Vehicles with intelligent transportation, smart cities, traffic management and other work, and effectively improve the quality of people's daily travel. We must strengthen safety management and ensure healthy and sustainable development. We must accelerate the establishment of a digital identity authentication mechanism for the Internet of Vehicles, promote cross-industry and cross-regional interconnection and secure communication of the Internet of Vehicles, strengthen network and information security work, improve the safety level of products and services from the source, and promote the sustainable development of the industry.
