BICS Group acquires 3m Digital Networks to accelerate transformation into communications platform provider

Beijing, China, December 24, 2021 – BICS, a leading international communications service provider, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary BICS Singapore has reached an agreement to acquire 3m Digital Networks, a professional provider of Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS). Through this acquisition, BICS will be able to incorporate a series of omni-channel cloud communications service solutions into its existing communications product portfolio, thereby accelerating its strategic transformation towards a communications platform company. This acquisition is also an important measure taken by BICS to continue to expand its software as a service (SaaS) solutions to support the digital transformation of enterprises, which will significantly enhance BICS's service advantages for the telecommunications and enterprise markets.

Through this acquisition, BICS will add a range of cloud-native communication solutions, including AI voice, multi-channel messaging services (such as WhatsApp, verification services, IP SMS and RCS services), and advanced analytics services, further expanding its existing communication product portfolio. 3m Digital Networks' superior technology, combined with BICS's cloud numbers covering more than 200 countries/regions around the world, industry-leading SIP trunk services, and high-quality global voice and SMS services, will help BICS optimize and provide more advanced API communication services. 3m Digital Networks has more than 500 customers worldwide, sending and receiving more than 3 billion text messages each year. With its technological innovation, entrepreneurial capabilities and rapid growth, the company was shortlisted for Deloitte's list of high-tech and high-growth companies in India and Asia Pacific in 2019.

“BICS is committed to building a unified communications platform that integrates a wide range of software applications and combines BICS’ extensive global network to provide users with a seamless experience. This acquisition will accelerate our vision to achieve this goal,” said Matteo Gatta, CEO of BICS Group. “With the new capabilities of our communications platform, we will be able to provide companies with more tools to help them use digital communications to interact with customers faster and more effectively.”

In addition, with its advanced public cloud scalable communications platform, BICS enables enterprises to easily build and configure a complete digital communications solution suite to attract more customers and enhance the customer experience.

BICS's cloud communications portfolio is suitable for three different digital use cases, including customer engagement, customer support and collaboration. According to a report released by IDC, the global CPaaS market size reached US$5.9 billion in 2020 and is expected to reach US$17.71 billion in 2024. The Synergy Research Group report further pointed out that the CPaaS market in the Asia-Pacific region has the fastest growth in the world, with a year-on-year increase of 55% in the second quarter of 2021.

Ajay Gupta, founder and CEO of 3m Digital Networks, said: “Joining the BICS Group is a great opportunity for us to complement each other and leverage our respective strengths to develop new use cases to capture new growth opportunities arising from the rapid global digital transformation. Being headquartered in Asia gives us a clear competitive advantage in this large digital market, while being able to leverage BICS’ global network coverage will be a huge differentiator for us.”

Brijesh Kashyap, Co-founder and Managing Director of 3m Digital Networks, said: “Our goal is to enable unified communications for enterprises through a multi-channel customer service strategy. By joining forces with BICS, we will be able to provide our customers with enhanced support services and more reliable global network coverage.”

The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions.
