Turn off WiFi to avoid base stations for fear of radiation. You are wrong again

[[434629]]

I didn't expect that in 2021, there would still be news like "Should you turn off the wireless router when sleeping" and "Community owners dismantled base stations and complained about no signal" on the Internet, and the comment section was full of noise.

Ask your neighbors to turn off WiFi?

There are even some self-media articles and videos that advise people to turn off wireless routers before going to bed at night, otherwise the radiation will affect health. Such articles or videos have even been forwarded and liked more than 100,000 times, misleading many friends. Parents and the elderly are especially easily influenced. I believe that many netizens have also received such articles from their parents.

So, will the wireless routers in our homes and the operator base stations in our lives cause harm to our health? We must explain this issue from a scientific perspective to avoid misunderstandings.

Oppose the construction of base stations and complain about the lack of signal?

Based on the current comments on the Internet, some people believe that leaving the wireless router on 24 hours a day wastes electricity and emits radiation, which can affect human health, especially when sleeping.

Another group of people think that wireless routers are used by users 24/7 and it doesn’t matter if they don’t turn them off. There is no need to cut off the power to the refrigerator, TV and other electrical appliances at home.

The country has strict restrictions on transmission power, and listed products must comply with

In fact, from all angles, there is no need to turn off the wireless router when sleeping. From a health perspective, WiFi is a radio wave, and the radiation it generates is electromagnetic radiation. According to national standards, the transmission power of wireless routers is not allowed to exceed 100mW, and is far lower than the limit standards in Europe and the United States. Therefore, the radiation generated by wireless routers will not have a radiation effect on the human body.

In addition, regarding 5G base stations, according to the data released by operators: in the 4G era, the power of large base stations was 40 watts and that of small base stations was 20 watts. With the support of 5G technology, the power of micro base stations is only 10 watts, and the power of micro-micro base stations even reaches 250 milliwatts. After beamforming, the power allocated to the antenna output port by the 5G base station is only 4 watts. Correspondingly, the power of each household lighting lamp is 15 watts to 40 watts, so the radiation of the 5G base station is negligible. In addition, when laying base stations, operators will take into account the problem of signal superposition, so the actual transmission power is far lower than the national standard.

Moreover, the radiation that is harmful to the human body is "ionizing radiation"! It appears in X-rays, gamma rays and neutron rays. Base stations, mobile phones and wireless routers generate "electromagnetic radiation", which will not cause any harm to the human body when used in daily life.

Therefore, don’t believe the rumors like “turn off the router when you sleep” and “base stations cannot be in residential areas” anymore.
