On November 1, the World Advanced Manufacturing Conference, co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the People's Government of Shandong Province, opened in Jinan, Shandong Province. Xiao Yaqing, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, delivered a speech via video.

Xiao Yaqing said that from 2012 to 2020, my country's manufacturing value added increased from 16.98 trillion yuan to 26.6 trillion yuan, and its share of the world's total increased from 22.5% to nearly 30%, ranking first in the world for 11 consecutive years.

• We must focus on maintaining the basic stability of the proportion of manufacturing, thoroughly implement the "six stability" and "six guarantees" tasks, increase investment in manufacturing, focus on solving the difficulties and problems faced by industrial enterprises, especially small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises, coordinate the promotion of consumption upgrades, and make every effort to stabilize and boost the manufacturing industry.
• We must focus on enhancing the stability and competitiveness of the industrial chain and supply chain, strengthen the construction of industrial innovation capabilities, make solid progress in making up for shortcomings and strengthening strengths, implement the industrial base reconstruction project, and promote the optimization and upgrading of the entire industrial chain.
• We must focus on promoting high-end and green development, increase efforts to transform and upgrade traditional industries, implement carbon peak action and green manufacturing projects in the industrial field, vigorously promote the application of energy-saving technologies and products, develop and strengthen emerging industries, focus on cultivating high-quality enterprises, and continuously improve the overall quality of the industry.
• We must focus on giving full play to the role of the digital economy as a new engine, strengthen the construction of new information infrastructure, implement smart manufacturing projects, carry out digital transformation actions in the manufacturing industry, and promote the deep integration of 5G, the Internet, big data, artificial intelligence and the manufacturing industry.
