Our bureau will work with relevant units and departments in Beijing to organize and implement a number of major projects around the cultivation of leading enterprises, the construction of the 5G industrial chain and the creation of 5G applications, coordinate and improve industrial support policies, and promote the leading development of Beijing's 5G industry and applications."

Cross-border needs; application integration, system integration, and ecological integration

As the main driving force for a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, 5G new infrastructure has demonstrated its capabilities in the era of the epidemic, accelerating the digital transformation of traditional industries and making a "zero-distance" social structure possible. However, the development of my country's 5G network still has a long way to go. From a toB perspective, there is still a long way to go to meet the needs of effective and efficient support applications. From a toC perspective, a high-quality 5G network that meets the diversified needs of users has not yet been fully built. In the third year of cross-border dialogue, clearer requirements were put forward for the integration of the 5G industry and vertical industries.

Wu Hequan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech on developing a new pattern of 5GtoB-based enterprise networks, pointing out that "enterprise application scenarios have many particularities compared to public networks, and a new 5GtoB architecture needs to be opened up in a targeted manner to support flattening of enterprise networks and applications with large bandwidth, low latency, high reliability, and high security. At the same time, enterprise networks have special requirements for performance, including gigabit transmission and large uplinks, which need to be supported by 5G air interface and terminal technology innovations. The new 5G enterprise network architecture + new industrial network management will build an industrial Internet pattern, increase my country's self-reliance and self-improvement capabilities in the development of the industrial Internet, effectively promote the digital transformation of the industry, and enable high-quality industrial development."

Wang Jiangzhou, a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering of the United Kingdom, pointed out from the perspective of 5G empowering the digital economy: "The integration of 5G and industrial systems has gone from shallow to deep, and has begun to empower the digital transformation of industry. In order to realize the goal of one network carrying OT and IT and achieve the goal of seamless integration of the entire system, the entire process, the entire industrial chain, and the entire life cycle, it is necessary to enhance the 5G capability system, and secondly, to deeply integrate and bidirectionally adapt the 5G capability system with the industrial communication and application protocols for the control execution layer and the field equipment layer."

Wang Tao, a senior scientist at iQIYI, introduced the multi-camera interactive video production and broadcasting system. The various real-time activities it generates have put forward extremely high experience requirements for 5G, and pointed out that "the popularization of 5G gigabit networks has broken the network bottleneck for improving video experience. Combined with AI, ultra-high definition, HDR and other technologies, it has produced a superposition effect of 1+1>2, driving the popularization of 4K/8K ultra-clear videos, immersive VR/AR/MR, interactive videos, etc., bringing quality and diversity to video experience."

Cui Hairong, Vice President of Supply Chain at Schneider Electric China, shared Schneider Electric's exploration and practice in 5G convergence innovation. In introducing several typical applications, Cui Hairong said: "Whether it is for the optimization of network infrastructure of its own supply chain system and the collaborative management of upstream and downstream enterprises in the supply chain, or as a provider of industrial automation solutions, Gigabit 5G has many values and advantages, which can meet the demands of various enterprises such as flexible manufacturing, full-process and full-network, industrial control, and precise positioning."

Ubiquitous Gigabit is the current direction of network construction: from Gigabit with few users and less time to Gigabit with many users and more time

Major cities in China have basically completed the coverage of gigabit experience in the main urban area, and the goal of gigabit in 100 cities has been basically achieved. With the continuous increase in the number of 5G users, consumers' demand for 5G has changed from personal gigabit to ubiquitous and easy-to-use, and vertical industries' demand for 5G networks has changed from single-point availability to scalable replication. In this forum, China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom and Huawei proposed a consistent direction for the construction of 5G gigabit networks in the next three years.

"The new digital economic infrastructure represented by dual-gigabit networks and computing power networks is the key engine for the digital transformation of industries, high-quality economic and social development, and a better life for the people." Huang Yuhong, deputy director of China Mobile Research Institute, put forward his thoughts on the subsequent promotion of 5G from the introduction of the metaverse at the meeting and pointed out, "As a builder of a network power and a service provider of a smart society, China Mobile is willing to work with a large number of industry partners to achieve cross-border integration, collaborative innovation, and create a better future together."

Chen Yunqing, deputy director of China Telecom Research Institute, introduced China Telecom's innovative practice of empowering thousands of industries with gigabit 5G experience, and said, "From 'super uplink' to 'super frequency fusion', China Telecom continues to innovate and build a customized network with dual gigabit 5G experience for uplink and downlink, empowering the transformation of thousands of industries. At the same time, relying on the AI empowerment platform cc platform, we will create a differentiated AI capability system for operators' special scenarios, focus on intelligent application exploration in areas such as base station energy saving and equipment room energy saving, practice green cloud network, implement China Telecom's '1236' green and low-carbon development model, and help gigabit network."

Wei Jinwu, deputy director of China Unicom Research Institute, shared China Unicom's practical thinking on building a new intelligent vision and enjoying intelligent uplink, and said, "Dual gigabit is the strategic direction of digital new infrastructure. China Unicom relies on building a high-quality 5G network with uplink and downlink, indoor and outdoor gigabit speeds, and promotes the construction of smart cities through digital management, in order to reduce social costs, improve government efficiency, and improve service quality."

Gan Bin, vice president of Huawei's wireless network product line, said at the meeting, "5G ubiquitous gigabit means the development from downlink gigabit to uplink gigabit, and from one person's gigabit to everyone's gigabit, while achieving indiscriminate coverage between cities and between cities and villages, building the cornerstone of digital development, promoting industrial economy, and achieving common prosperity."

"In order to empower the digital economy and society to the greatest extent possible, 5G network construction must still adhere to the principle of moderate advancement. We need to continue to increase research on 5G technology and industry integration technology, promote the construction of 5G networks in cities, counties, and key townships, promote the formation of integrated technology standards as soon as possible, provide extensive and high-quality 5G network coverage, and create new products, new business forms, and new models for 5G integrated applications." Yang Hua, Secretary-General of the TD Alliance, concluded.
