On June 18, 2021, the launching ceremony of the 4th "Zhanzhang Cup" 5G Application Collection Competition-Fujian Regional Competition and the Information and Communication Development Research Forum were successfully held in Xiamen. The organizers and leaders of relevant units, including the Fujian Provincial Communications Administration, Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Fujian Provincial Digital Fujian Construction Leading Group Office, Xiamen Municipal People's Government, and China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, jointly pressed the button to officially launch the 4th "Zhanzhang Cup" 5G Application Collection Competition-Fujian Regional Competition.

Cheng Jianjun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Fujian Provincial Communications Administration, expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of all companies and put forward three suggestions for Fujian to promote the development of 5G applications. First, adhere to integrated innovation and enhance 5G supply capabilities; second, deepen application exploration and accelerate the implementation of 5G applications; third, highlight collaborative cooperation and build a 5G industry ecosystem.

Huang Xiaozhou, deputy mayor of Xiamen Municipal People's Government, said in his speech that Xiamen will deepen the "Digital Fujian" development strategy, accelerate the construction of Digital Xiamen, and will use this Bloom Cup event to further expand Xiamen's influence in the field of national 5G technology innovation.

In his speech, Wang Zhiqin, deputy director of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, said that this competition will be used as an opportunity to give full play to the scale effect and driving role of the new 5G infrastructure, vigorously promote quality change, efficiency change, and power change, support high-quality economic development in all aspects, and create a prosperous 5G application innovation ecosystem in the entire southeast region.

Ao Li, director of the Standardization Institute of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, gave an authoritative interpretation of the 4th "Blooming Cup" 5G Application Collection Competition-Fujian Regional Competition, and detailed the history and fruitful results of previous "Blooming Cup" competitions. He also gave a comprehensive and systematic introduction to the organization method, schedule, features, award settings and time plan of this Fujian Regional Competition.

In the keynote speech session, representatives from Beijing Normal University, China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, People's Daily, China Baowu Steel Group, State Grid Fujian Electric Power, Xiamen Golden Dragon Automobile, Nanping Aluminum, Xiangyu Technology and other companies shared their exploration and practices in the fields of smart education, smart culture and tourism, smart medical care, smart media, Internet of Vehicles, energy, and finance.

The event was hosted by Xin Wei, Secretary-General of the 5G Application Industry Array. More than 200 people from the Fujian Provincial Communications Administration, Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Fujian Provincial Digital Fujian Construction Leading Group Office, Xiamen Municipal People's Government, Xiamen Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Xiamen Municipal Communications Administration, as well as enterprises from various industries, telecom operators, communications equipment manufacturers, universities, research institutions and government departments attended the event.
