Huawei Cloud releases blockchain white paper to accelerate the implementation of blockchain technology in the industry

Huawei Cloud releases blockchain white paper to accelerate the implementation of blockchain technology in the industry

On April 17, during the 2018 Huawei Analyst Conference (HAS2018), Zheng Yelai, President of Huawei Cloud BU, released the "Huawei Blockchain White Paper" at the cloud special session. The white paper systematically introduces the rise of blockchain, core technologies and principle mechanisms, the current status of domestic and foreign industrial development and typical application scenarios, summarizes Huawei's research results on blockchain over the years, and gives a detailed introduction to Huawei Cloud Blockchain Service BCS. The release of the "Huawei Blockchain White Paper" has a positive role in accelerating the rapid implementation of blockchain technology and promoting the digital transformation of the industry.

Early deployment of "Super Ledger" and active contribution to technology promotion and implementation

In fact, Huawei has long been involved in the blockchain field. As early as 2016, Huawei began to actively participate in the Hyperledger (also known as "Super Ledger") project under the Linux Foundation. This project is the most influential open source project in the field of blockchain technology. It has continued to make technical and code contributions in the two most popular sub-projects Fabric and STL. At the same time, it was awarded the Maintainer position by the community and is the only Maintainer from Asia in the two projects.

In the Hyperledger Fabric project, Huawei developed and modified a number of features such as Chaincode upgrades, which were unanimously recognized and adopted by the community. Hyperledger established a technical working group in China, and Huawei was appointed as the chairman of the working group. It also helped promote cooperation between the global Hyperledger community and the local Chinese technical team, and made positive contributions to the development of the blockchain open source community and technology promotion in China.

Focus on the digital transformation of the industry and promote the construction of the industrial ecosystem

Blockchain has the characteristics of decentralized technology, immutability and traceability, which allows participants to establish stronger trust with the subject. This characteristic can only truly generate value when combined with enterprise applications and industry scenarios, and is a kind of technology ecosystem. The white paper points out that Huawei Cloud Blockchain Services can be used in data applications, IOT, finance and other fields. Specific scenarios include: data transactions, identity authentication, real estate/education information certification, telemedicine, food traceability, Internet of Vehicles, IoT equipment management, targeted poverty alleviation, supply chain finance, etc., which can be well combined with industry scenarios to help build a technology ecosystem and industry digital transformation.

At present, Huawei Cloud's blockchain services mainly focus on 4 categories and 9 subcategories of application scenarios, including data assets, IOT, operators and financial fields, such as: identity authentication, data storage/transactions, new energy, public welfare donations, inclusive finance, etc.

Huawei Cloud BCS helps enterprises complete blockchain deployment in 5 minutes

Currently, all industries and enterprises are actively exploring blockchain technology. However, it is not easy for enterprises to deploy blockchain in a cloud environment. Developers need to have a deep understanding of blockchain technology, and deployment is labor-intensive and time-consuming.

Huawei Cloud has launched the blockchain service BCS (Blockchain Service), which is an enterprise-level blockchain cloud service product based on open source blockchain technology and Huawei's years of accumulation in core technologies such as distributed parallel computing, data management, and secure encryption. It is an open, easy-to-use, flexible and efficient general-purpose basic service. BCS focuses on the construction of blockchain cloud technology platforms, helping industry enterprises to quickly and efficiently build enterprise-level blockchain industry solutions and applications on Huawei Cloud, helping enterprises to launch new solutions one step faster and promote the rapid implementation of blockchain application scenarios.

Huawei Cloud BCS is built on Huawei Cloud's leading cloud native technologies (such as containers), and can complete blockchain deployment in as fast as 5 minutes. It also provides a variety of secure and efficient consensus algorithms with performance up to 2000TPS-10KTPS. Based on Huawei Cloud's full-stack security capabilities, BCS services use security technologies such as layered encryption, national encryption support, homomorphic encryption, and zero-knowledge proof to fully protect blockchain system accounts, nodes, ledgers, and data, ensuring user and transaction information security.

Focus on typical applications to build a "three-in-one" blockchain architecture

Huawei focuses on typical application areas, with Huawei Cloud Blockchain Service BCS as the core, and combines networks and terminals (including chips) to create a "cloud service + network + chip/terminal", a three-in-one blockchain framework, combining software + hardware to provide faster and more secure end-to-end blockchain solutions, and serve to build an end-to-end trusted social system.

Huawei Cloud is dedicated to being an enabler of the blockchain circle, and is committed to using blockchain technology to help companies solve the credibility problem in the data flow process and work with companies to build a trusted society. The white paper also points out that Huawei Cloud will not participate in any virtual currency-related services.
