Report: The number of Internet users in my country has reached 940 million, of which nearly 223 million are students, accounting for 23.7%

According to CCTV reports, the 46th "Statistical Report on the Development of China's Internet" released by the China Internet Network Information Center shows that as of June this year, the number of Internet users in my country has reached 940 million.

In terms of age, those under 19 years old account for 18.3%, or 172 million people. In terms of occupation, students account for the largest proportion, reaching 23.7%. In other words, nearly 223 million netizens are still in school.

In order to prevent minors from becoming addicted to the Internet, over the past year or so, more than 50 short video and live broadcast platforms in my country have piloted the launch of "youth mode" to regulate minors' online behavior in terms of usage time, duration, functions and browsing content.

In addition, "Teen Mode" usually prohibits the use of platform functions such as rewards, recharges, withdrawals, live broadcasts, and publishing of opinions.

However, the investigation found that some online platforms still have many problems in the "teen mode". The reporter opened a short video app with wide application and chose to enter the teen mode, but soon saw content that was obviously not suitable for teenagers to watch. The screen was full of pornographic meanings, and the five big words "teen mode" below were useless. However, the app ranked third in the download rankings in the mobile phone application store.

Another major loophole of the platform is the password problem. The password set in the "teen mode" is usually only four digits, and the password will not be "locked after multiple incorrect inputs", which means that users can repeatedly guess the password and unlock it.

Experts also pointed out that even if an application is limited to 40 minutes, the total time spent online cannot be controlled if multiple applications are used on the phone, making it difficult to fundamentally solve the problem of teenagers' addiction to the Internet.
