2020 is a critical year for 5G construction, and the latest developments in 5G have attracted great attention. On November 27, at the 5G Global Operator Forum of the 2020 World 5G Conference, Liu Guiqing, deputy general manager of China Telecom, said that as of now, China Telecom's 5G base stations have covered more than 300 cities across the country, with more than 70 million 5G users. According to Liu Guiqing, China Telecom announced the global commercial launch of the Shenzhen SA network in October 2019, took the lead in releasing the "5G SA Deployment Guide" in June 2020, and announced the construction of the world's largest 5G SA co-built and shared network in November this year. So far, China Telecom's 5G base stations have covered more than 300 cities across the country, with more than 70 million 5G users. He said that China Telecom's customized 5G private network has achieved deep integration and flexible customization of connectivity, computing and intelligence, meeting the differentiated needs of different industries and effectively reducing the private network costs of industry customers. In addition, Liu Guiqing also specifically introduced the role played by China Telecom's 5G in the fight against the epidemic, such as the opening of 5G networks in the Huoshenshan and Leishenshan hospitals, and the construction of 24-hour high-definition live broadcasts; the successful implementation of the first remote ultrasound diagnosis and treatment of patients with new coronary pneumonia, alleviating the tension in medical resources; the development of remote office, video conferencing, enterprise cloud and other products and applications to support the resumption of work and production. In fact, 5G is the most fundamental communication infrastructure in the new infrastructure. It not only plays an important role in helping epidemic prevention and control, resumption of work and production, but also has great potential in stabilizing investment, promoting consumption, and assisting upgrades. |
