H3C focuses on new infrastructure to safeguard 5G commercial use

The current "new infrastructure" boom is surging, pushing the construction of new infrastructure in seven major areas, including 5G, big data centers, artificial intelligence, and industrial Internet, to the forefront. As a new generation of mobile networks that can connect other "new infrastructure" projects, 5G not only has the characteristics of high bandwidth, low latency, and wide density, but is also a basic communication platform for realizing the Internet of Everything. It can provide connection technology for a series of applications such as AR/VR, ultra-high-definition video, and industrial Internet, and has become an important cornerstone for promoting the economic and social progress from digitalization to intelligence.

New infrastructure, 5G first

The COVID-19 pandemic at the beginning of this year severely disrupted the production order of the industry. However, in the process of technological anti-epidemic and resumption of work and production, the importance of ICT technology, digitalization and intelligence has been highlighted. With the guidance of national policies and economic situation, the "new infrastructure" led by 5G is becoming a new opportunity for the development of the industry.

If 4G is compared to an information highway, 5G is a three-dimensional transportation network covering land, sea and air, which can provide a full range of high-speed transmission channels for the transmission of huge amounts of data and information, and can also make up for the shortcomings in information transmission, connection scale and communication quality that restrict artificial intelligence, big data, industrial Internet, etc. However, in the face of strong demand for 5G in various industries, how operators can accelerate deployment and take advantage of the opportunity to achieve business innovation and value reconstruction has undoubtedly become a hot topic nowadays.

The current mainstream solution is for operators to upgrade bearer network equipment to meet the 5G network's communication needs for larger bandwidth and lower latency, and to give full play to the IP network's inherently flexible and multi-connectivity characteristics.

H3C's 5G integrated bearer network strength emerges

As 5G network construction gradually unfolds, New H3C Group, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Unigroup and a domestic provider of telecommunications-grade core network products and solutions, continues to explore and advance 5G integrated bearer network solutions, comprehensively assisting operators in building a new generation of 5G bearer networks.

5G bearer, routing first. At present, H3C Group has launched a series of router products from core, aggregation to access to meet the bearer needs of operators in the 5G era, including RX8800-16, RX8800-08, RA5300, RA5100 and other products. In terms of technology, it adopts the industry's programmable FlexE module, AI self-diagnosis protection technology and the industry-leading orthogonal architecture equipment for mid-to-high-end equipment to meet operators' technical requirements for 5G bearer network large-capacity T-level hardware platform, FlexE network slicing capabilities, EVPN, SRv6 and other technical requirements, and can cooperate with SDN controllers to achieve cloud-network integration.

In terms of product capabilities, the RX8800 and RA5000 series support full-service functions such as SR, SRv6, and Telemetry, support end-to-end network slicing solution capabilities, and can be connected to SDN solutions, providing flexible and reliable technical support for 5G multi-service bearer. At the same time, in terms of business, they can meet the stringent requirements of 5G on the bandwidth, latency, slicing, time synchronization accuracy, and intelligent management of the bearer network.

Combining leading cloud-network integration technologies, H3C Group and operators work together to deeply explore the needs of various industries, create and introduce industry-integrated applications, help operators build flexible and advanced 5G networks, and promote the successful implementation of 5G operations.

Fully shortlisted for operator router centralized procurement

With outstanding product performance and years of technical accumulation, H3C's 5G integrated bearer network products have withstood many rigorous tests in the centralized procurement tests of China Telecom and China Unicom, including the most stringent contactless test, stress test, 48-hour copy test, decoupling test and other test standards in the industry, and finally stood out with excellent results and were fully shortlisted for the centralized procurement of operators' routers. Now, it has fully entered the metropolitan area, mobile bearer and core backbone networks of the three major operators and has been fully recognized by the operators.

In the centralized procurement of intelligent metropolitan area networks by China Unicom in March this year, H3C Group was successfully shortlisted in the three major areas of core layer, aggregation layer, and access layer, and has also completed implementation in 19 provinces, among which 5G services have been launched in six provinces, including Shandong, Henan, Zhejiang, Hunan, Chongqing, and Heilongjiang.

In Shandong , H3C assisted Dongying Unicom in opening a dual-carrier base station based on SA networking, with a downlink rate of more than 2Gbps. It was also the first to access MEC services at a commercial airport, providing a 5G solution for the commercial use of the domestically produced CZ919 passenger aircraft.

˙In Henan, H3C has independently built 5G SA base stations in Hebi, Luohe and Sanmenxia. It has now successfully launched 5G services in 11 cities across the province, laying a solid foundation for Henan Unicom's 5G construction.

In Zhejiang, more than 50 H3C devices have been connected to the Lishui network, more than 130 shared base stations of China Telecom and more than 140 shared base stations of China Unicom have been put into operation, which has effectively promoted the overall plan of co-construction and sharing of 5G by China Telecom and China Unicom.

˙In Chongqing, Hunan and Heilongjiang, H3C has put nearly 200 devices online and achieved decoupled networking deployment in 15 cities, fully demonstrating the open capabilities of H3C's 5G integrated bearer network solution and providing solid support for operators to accelerate 5G layout.

˙ In early 2020, H3C Group obtained a large share in China Telecom's 5G STN network equipment centralized procurement, and entered 70 cities in 12 provinces. In the current project delivery, nearly 1,000 H3C 5G STN equipment are connected and managed by China Telecom's third-party network management, and hundreds of equipment have achieved 5G base station service mounting, providing support for the diversified construction of China Telecom's 5G network. In the upgrade of China Telecom's metropolitan area network, H3C actively participated based on 5G STN products. It is one of the manufacturers designated by the Telecom Group for preliminary plan discussions and specification formulation, and was also invited to participate in the trial commercial verification of existing networks in many provinces.

As the foundation of national strategy and digital economy construction, 5G will continue to improve and evolve in the future. As a trusted core value partner of operators, H3C Group will continue to be committed to the research and development of products and solutions and innovative applications in the 5G field, helping operators to achieve cloud-network integration from the four major directions of terminal, network, cloud and use, promoting the reshaping of operators' value with the concept of win-win cooperation, and jointly creating a smart future in the 5G era.
