Cisco and partners work together to build the Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City industry ecosystem

In order to accelerate the development of Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City project and further introduce the technical strength and high-quality resources of Cisco's local and overseas partners in China, the signing ceremony of Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City Industrial Cooperation Project was held at the Chimelong International Convention and Exhibition Center on April 24. Lu Yixian, member of the Standing Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, He Rucheng, Secretary of the Panyu District Party Committee, Chen Dejun, Deputy Secretary of the Panyu District Party Committee and District Mayor, Chuck Robbins, Chairman and CEO of Cisco, Chen Shiwei, Cisco Global Senior Vice President and Chairman of Greater China, Xiao Jieyun, Cisco Global Vice President and CEO of Greater China, senior executives of Cisco's partner companies, leaders of relevant functional departments of Guangzhou City and Panyu District, and major news media attended the signing ceremony. Cisco signed contracts with 12 partners, adding new momentum and injecting new vitality into the development and construction of Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City.

Cisco and the Guangzhou Municipal Government signed a cooperation framework agreement in April 2016 to jointly build the Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City project, which integrates "industry, learning, research, business, and residence". The project is committed to focusing on the construction idea of ​​"building cities with industry and promoting industry with cities", combining Cisco's IoT technology advantages with the industry solutions of industry partners, building a smart industry ecosystem required for smart city life, work, learning, entertainment and other aspects, and creating a smart city model with demonstration effect and industry driving effect in China and even the world. Since the signing of the cooperation framework agreement, the Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City project has received great attention and strong support from governments at all levels in Guangdong Province, Guangzhou City and Panyu District, and all aspects of the project have been steadily advancing. The signing event of the Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City Industry Cooperation Project has brought together many cross-industry partners from home and abroad. They will work with Cisco to promote the development, incubation and experience of related technologies and applications of the Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City project in the fields of smart life, smart transportation, smart lighting management, smart building construction, cloud services, supply chain finance, and cooperation in the fields of unmanned driving, new energy vehicles, and Internet of Vehicles. The Cisco partners that signed the contract this time include: GAC Group, Flex, AEssense Corporation, Larson Living Labs, JCDecaux, Nexpa Systems, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Skyworks Group, Digit Group Hong Kong Company, Eternal Asia, iFLYTEK, and Beijing Jilianjiu Investment Co., Ltd.

It is understood that Guangzhou and Cisco have deepened their strategic cooperation since 2016. With the strong promotion of the governments of Guangzhou and Panyu District, and the sincere cooperation of Cisco and its partners, the Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City project has been included in the "Guangdong Province 2018 Key Construction Project Plan". At present, Cisco (China) Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. has officially started operation, and 21 global partner companies of Cisco have settled in Panyu, and the manufacturing cloud platform and iShowroom exhibition hall have been gradually put into use. Panyu District, together with Cisco and Country Garden Group, has established a professional investment promotion team to fully promote the investment promotion work of Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City. It has successively held a number of large-scale investment promotion activities such as the Cisco Greater China Partner Investment Panyu Special Promotion Conference, the Cisco (Guangzhou) Smart City Investment Promotion Conference in Silicon Valley, the United States, and the Israel Investment Promotion Conference, extending and expanding the investment promotion of the industrial chain, supply chain, and innovation chain, attracting high-end resource elements from around the world, promoting the intensive development of industrial project clusters, and creating a model city of smart ecology with an annual output value of over 100 billion yuan.
