Based on the integration of 5G with different technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and industrial Internet, 5G can realize real-time collection of production data and remote control of equipment, realize the interconnection of various production personnel and intelligent equipment, and realize the visualization of production and safety.

At the same time, in the field of smart grid, the value of 5G is mainly reflected in the aspects of power transmission, distribution and operation monitoring, distribution network protection and control, new energy and energy storage grid connection, coordinated dispatching and stability control, and comprehensive application of emergency site self-organizing network. The first is to accelerate the coverage of 5G private networks. At this stage, although my country has built more than 900,000 5G base stations, the 5G network has basically achieved initial coverage of major towns. However, these base stations are mainly built in cities, while my country's energy construction is generally concentrated in remote areas or places with harsh environments. In other words, the coverage of 5G base stations dedicated to energy applications is not enough, and construction needs to be further strengthened.

Secondly, we need to develop a number of key common technologies, including 5G virtual private networks, 5G drones/robots/remote inspections/remote control/5G AGV technology, 5G unmanned driving technology, etc. These are the key common technologies for the integration of 5G and energy, and are also the most widely used technologies. To this end, my country needs to take the lead in achieving breakthroughs in these technologies so that 5G can be truly implemented in the energy field.

For the 5G and energy industries, the integrated development of both parties needs to be based on the construction of their own standards. However, at present, whether it is the former or the latter, my country's standard construction is far from enough. The integrated development of 5G and energy is not static, and requires continuous technological innovation to maintain its vitality. Therefore, my country should focus on key common technologies and supporting special technologies related to 5G applications in the energy field, study and build a national energy research and development innovation platform related to the integrated application of 5G, big data, artificial intelligence and other advanced information technologies and energy, and accelerate the construction and improvement of the industrial ecosystem.
