Digitalization and the provision of digital services have become key to business. According to a Riverbed survey of 1,000 global business decision makers, almost all of them agree that implementing digital strategies as quickly as possible and maximizing performance are critical to future business success. In fact, the vast majority of respondents (91%) believe that a successful digital experience is more important to a company's revenue than it has been in the past three years. Business leaders have realized that digitalization can bring many advantages, such as increasing revenue, enhancing brand awareness and improving employee productivity. Although the resulting digital transformation will drive the market to adopt innovative products and services, there is still a huge digital performance gap. Nearly 80% of business leaders reported that key digital service failures occur multiple times a month, affecting employee efficiency and end-user experience.
95% of the same respondents believe that major barriers, including budget constraints, legacy networks and lack of visibility into the digital experience, are preventing their organizations from advancing their digital strategies and delivering the performance and customer experience required in today’s digital world. Whether it is an online retail store, a digital health service or a banking mobile app, the performance of a digital service or tool can make or break the end-user experience, and any gap between its potential and actual performance is critical to overall business success. The survey found that companies need to fully understand the digital experience and maximize performance, while monitoring, evaluating and proactively resolving issues. In addition, companies must ensure that they have a modern IT architecture to fully support and leverage new digital technologies. In fact, 99% of business leaders believe that digital experience visibility is critical to evaluating and managing digital experience, and 98% of business decision makers around the world believe that a modern, next-generation infrastructure that provides greater flexibility is extremely important to improving digital performance. Business leaders clearly say the time to act is now. Among respondents: 77% believe that it is critical for companies to invest in improving the digital experience of users or customers in the next year 95% added that if companies fail to take action within the next year, they will face the risk of reduced sales and revenue, delayed product launches, customer churn, loss of brand loyalty, and reduced employee productivity. Companies that are rolling out comprehensive digital strategies will maximize performance by gaining full visibility into their digital environments and next-generation infrastructure. These companies will set the stage for new technologies to emerge and gain advantages from solutions that incorporate emerging digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. They will disrupt markets, create new product categories, and leave digital naysayers to find their own answers. Riverbed understands the impact of digital performance on business because it gets to the heart of the end-user and customer experience. That’s why we’re investing in our Digital Performance Platform to help customers on their digital journey, enabling them to turn digital strategy into performance and rethink what’s possible. |
