South Korean telecom operator SK Telecom's 5G users have reached 8.65 million

According to foreign media reports, after KT released its third quarter financial report, South Korea's largest telecommunications operator SK Telecom also released its third quarter financial report today. Like KT, their net profit this quarter also increased significantly year-on-year.

SK Telecom's third-quarter financial report released on Wednesday showed that its revenue in the third quarter was 4.97 trillion won, equivalent to about US$4.205 billion, higher than 4.73 trillion won in the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 5%; it was also higher than 4.8 trillion won in the previous quarter, a month-on-month increase of 3.1%.

In terms of net profit, the financial report showed 736.5 billion won, much higher than 391.8 billion won in the same period last year, an increase of 88% year-on-year, but lower than 795.7 billion won in the previous quarter, a decrease of 7.4% month-on-month.

Foreign media reported that as the largest telecommunications operator in South Korea, SK Telecom's net profit in the third quarter increased significantly year-on-year, thanks to a significant increase in 5G users and an increase in equity income.

In terms of 5G users, SK Telecom disclosed in its financial report that as of the end of the third quarter, their 5G users reached 8.65 million, an increase of nearly 950,000 from the end of the second quarter.
