5G is not for demonstration, but for use: my country has entered the second half of 5G

Simply put, demonstration and use are two different things. The rapid development and market volume of my country's 5G construction in the past two years are like a "demonstration" atmosphere, which may be too focused on the effect of publicity. Now the overall progress of my country's 5G construction is no longer as fast as in the past two years, but more rational, more focused on investment benefits, and more focused on 5G applications, that is, the transformation to "use" as the main environment.

In fact, my country has long been leading the world in terms of the scale of its 5G network. For example, in terms of base station construction, my country has built more than 1 million 5G base stations, accounting for 70% of the world's total, and has more than 400 million terminals, making it the world's largest user group. Even though there are shortcomings in 5G applications, China is still at the forefront of the world. Currently, there are more than 10,000 5G application cases in China, covering many industries such as steel, electricity, and mining.

However, we must also realize that "5G is not for demonstration, but for use. Demonstration can be done at any cost, but use requires consideration of both cost and effect. If the first half of 5G is a table tennis match that reflects the individual skills of telecom operators, then in the second half, facing the ever-expanding application needs, 5G will become a football game with different roles in which vertical industries participate together."

Of course, everyone has heard that the 5G era is the era of industrial Internet, and the prosperity of 5G applications cannot be separated from the support of more spectrum. At present, overseas countries are deploying millimeter waves, and our country is currently mainly based on Sub6GH spectrum. However, the resources of Sub6GHz spectrum are limited, and the division to higher frequency bands has become the main trend of spectrum, so my country has not stopped related research on millimeter waves. Moreover, from the perspective of industry applications, faster network speeds, shorter delays, and higher quality application requirements are all based on large bandwidth networks.

So what about my country's millimeter wave technology reserves?

In terms of technical standards, 3GPP has completed the standardization of millimeter wave from 34.25GHz to 35.25GHz, and my country has identified the 27.35GHz and 38GHz frequency bands for experiments in 5G research and development technology.

Domestic equipment manufacturers have strong technical R&D capabilities, and have made fruitful progress in the research and development of independent and non-independent networking in the 24.75GHz to 27.5GHz frequency band, 800M bandwidth simultaneous uplink and downlink operation, and large uplink frame structure.

Finally, we should look forward to the demonstration use. In the upcoming Winter Olympics, millimeter wave will be put into my country's 5G commercial field for the first time to test and use real user experience.

In summary, 5G has entered a mature stage, and personal user use and industry 5G applications are gradually getting on the right track.
