National Bureau of Statistics: The number of 5G terminal connections in my country has exceeded 200 million

At present, my country's 5G development is accelerating, and the progress of 5G base station construction has exceeded expectations. On January 19, Ning Jizhe, director of the National Bureau of Statistics, said at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on the 18th that the number of 5G terminal connections in my country has exceeded 200 million.

According to Ning Jizhe, my country ranks first in the world in the output of more than 220 kinds of industrial products, and the added value of manufacturing is expected to rank first in the world for 11 consecutive years. Infrastructure is constantly improving, with the total operating mileage of high-speed railways reaching 38,000 kilometers, the mileage of highways exceeding 155,000 kilometers, and the number of 5G terminal connections exceeding 200 million, all ranking first in the world.

In addition, Ning Jizhe also said that the added value of high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing increased by 7.1% and 6.6% respectively over the previous year. In terms of product output, industrial robots, new energy vehicles, integrated circuits, and microcomputer equipment increased by 19.1%, 17.3%, 16.2%, and 12.7% respectively year-on-year.

In December 2020, at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office, Wen Ku, spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and director of the Information and Communications Development Department, said that my country added approximately 580,000 new 5G base stations in 2020, promoted the joint construction and sharing of 330,000 5G base stations, and all cities and counties have achieved 5G coverage.

As 5G base station coverage continues to expand, it will help drive explosive growth in 5G terminal applications, and will also drive the continued rapid development of the related industrial chain.
