At the HAS Analyst Conference recently, Chen Jinzhu, President of Huawei Metro Router, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Building a Leading Intelligent IP Network". In response to the ten-fold bandwidth, thousand-fold connections, and extremely high availability requirements brought by 5G, Huawei will use intelligent IP network solutions to help operators realize a simplified intelligent metropolitan area network with converged bearer, ultra-large capacity, end-to-end SRv6, and full lifecycle automation, enabling 5G commercial success.
Facing the new challenges of 5G bearer, Huawei has proposed three major network construction concepts: extremely simple network, intelligent connection, and extremely high availability. In terms of extremely simple network, through ultra-large capacity and compact design, full-scenario integrated bearer, simplified network nodes, and 50GE/400GE PAM4 technology, 100% TCO is achieved and investment is saved. In terms of intelligent connection, SRv6 is used to achieve massive access, automatic cross-domain connection and minute-level service issuance, providing tenant & APP-level SLA guarantees. In terms of extremely high availability, NCE+SRv6 is used to achieve 50ms protection switching, minute-level traffic optimization, second-level fault identification, and minute-level fault location for any topology, thereby greatly improving network availability. Ultra-large capacity: 50GE/400GE end-to-end large-capacity design enables a minimalist network At the access layer, Huawei's PAM4-based 50GE router supports 10km/40km single-fiber bidirectional transmission and 80km long-distance transmission, enabling long-distance fiber direct connection, saving transmission equipment costs, and saving 50% of fiber resources. Currently, more than ten operators around the world have carried out 50GE commercial deployment; At the backbone layer, 400GE is a key technology for networking in the 5G era. Huawei serves as the chairman of the IEEE 400GE/PAM4 working group and has contributed more than 50 standard documents to promote the improvement of the standard. In 2017, the first 400GE line card was launched, leading the industry by one year. In 2018, Huawei deployed the industry's first end-to-end 400GE network at Safaricom in Kenya, achieving commercial leadership. Minimalist protocol: The industry's first commercially available SRv6, enabling intelligent connectivity SRv6's rich expansion capabilities enable automatic cross-domain connections and minute-level service provisioning, enabling one-hop cloud access for service configuration; SRv6 can provide tenant- and APP-level service awareness, providing tenant- and APP-level SLA guarantees. Huawei's 5G bearer solution can support both MPLS and SR protocols, and can support lossless switching from MPLS to SR, and then to smooth evolution to SRv6 without hardware changes. In January 2019, China Telecom and Huawei jointly realized the world's first commercial use of SRv6, reducing the time required to connect cross-domain services from months to days. In terms of interconnection and interoperability, in March 2019, Huawei and a number of industry partners completed interoperability tests of typical application scenarios of SRv6 at EANTC, driving the industry forward. New O&M: Full lifecycle automation to improve network availability Through the Network Cloud Engine (NCE), a new operation and maintenance system with intelligent connection and high availability is built to realize the automated operation and maintenance of the entire life cycle of the IP bearer network. Based on NCE+SRv6, 50ms protection switching, minute-level traffic optimization, second-level fault identification, and minute-level fault location can be realized for any topology, achieving full network load balancing and predictive maintenance, thereby greatly improving network availability and helping operators expand their business in vertical industries in the 5G and cloud era. In the IHS 2018 Annual Operator Market Share Report released by ***, Huawei routers ranked first with an annual revenue growth of 8.6% and a market share of 30%. So far, Huawei has won more than 40 5G bearer commercial contracts, leading the world in commercial use. Huawei router products currently serve the world's top 35 operators, more than 130 networks, 300 million broadband users, and 1.67 billion mobile users, and its market share continues to lead. In the future, Huawei will continue to innovate technology and invest in R&D to help operators accelerate the intelligent upgrade of metropolitan area networks and usher in the intelligent era of *** IP networks. |
