Experts discuss the development of ultra-broadband and intelligent connectivity industries

The UBBF lasted for 3 days. Wen Ku, Director of the Information and Communication Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. During the period, there will be multiple sub-forums on F5G and IPv6+ and media releases held simultaneously at the National Convention Center. Many big names from the government, enterprises, operators and academia conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges at the forum, and expressed their respective views on the current status of ultra-broadband network development and the new challenges it faces.

Xu Xianping, Counselor of the State Council and former Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, Wang Zhiqin, Deputy Director of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Shan Zhiguang, Director of the Information Technology and Industrial Development Department of the National Information Center, Wei Leping, Executive Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and leaders of China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, Cameron Pace Group, Huaxia Bank Technology Company, and FAW Group also attended the conference and delivered keynote speeches.

Xu Xianping, Counselor of the State Council Counselor's Office, said: "A new era, new infrastructure, and new connections. Comprehensively building the digital foundation of the next-generation Internet, constructing all-optical connections from thousands of households to thousands of industries, and the main arteries of data connection and integration will open up a trillion-dollar investment market during the 14th Five-Year Plan period."

Wang Zhiqin, deputy director of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, believes that "the future industrial Internet will adopt a new cloud-pipe-edge-end architecture that integrates perception, connection, storage, computing, processing, and security. The industrial Internet network must have the characteristics of deterministic reliability, intelligent integration, ubiquitous access, secure and reliable, and high-speed transmission to meet high-quality industrial carrying needs."

Shan Zhiguang, director of the Information Technology and Industry Development Department of the National Information Center, said: "Intelligent connectivity, smart cities, and digital economy are twins, symbiotic, and associated. Intelligent connectivity carries the development trend of intelligent connectivity and intelligent connectivity, and provides high-quality guarantees for future smart cities."

Wei Leping, executive deputy director of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said: "As the business scope of operators gradually shifts from 2C to 2B, fiber to the park and fiber to the factory and even the workshop will gradually become important optical network 2B markets in the future. At the same time, cloud-network integration is becoming the main theme - the network is the foundation, the cloud is the core, the network moves with the cloud, and the cloud and network are integrated."

Gao Tongqing, Deputy General Manager of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd.: "Intelligence gives connections a smart brain, turning 'connection' into 'connection'. The intelligent connection of all things empowers all industries and sectors, and widely integrates digitalization into infrastructure, social governance, production methods, working methods and lifestyles to create a better future."

When talking about digital transformation, Shao Guanglu, director of China Telecom Group, emphasized: "Digital transformation = networking + digitization + cloudification + intelligence + data sharing, that is, four transformations and one sharing. Only the open and shared cloud-network integrated new infrastructure can enable the digital transformation of the entire industry."

Fan Yunjun, deputy general manager of China Unicom Group, said: "Home Internet is a bridge for industrial Internet to connect end users. It is a consumer market based on families. Compared with personal Internet, it has better user stickiness."

Huawei releases full-scenario intelligent connectivity solution

At present, ultra-wideband technology is developing rapidly, and ultra-wideband has gradually become the cornerstone of the intelligent connected society, greatly promoting the development of various fields including medical care, education, employment, transportation, agriculture, trade and government services. From the perspective of the development of human society, we have also gone from "no connection" and "weak connection" to the crossroads of "intelligent connection". Today, the scale of global network connections is no longer limited to the total world population. Such a huge demand has brought new challenges to our communication technology.

The purpose of technological progress is to assist humans in creating value. So, how can we use the Internet of Things to create higher value? The answer is: intelligent connection.

Based on the "Intelligent Connectivity Strategy" released by Huawei at the All Connect Conference in September, Huawei also implemented the relevant strategy at UBBF2020 and officially released the "Full-Scenario Intelligent Connectivity Solution" to empower the digital transformation of various industries.

The solution includes four major scenarios, namely: intelligent distributed access for home scenarios, intelligent high-quality private lines to achieve interconnection and cloud computing between enterprises, intelligent campus networks that meet the digital transformation of enterprise campuses, and intelligent cloud networks that support enterprises to go to the cloud and achieve cloud-network collaboration.

The release of Huawei's "Full-Scenario Intelligent Connectivity Solution" will bring disruptive productivity improvements to the industry. With the acceleration of the new infrastructure construction process and the increasing popularity of solutions, the value multiplier effect of "intelligent connectivity" for the entire society will become more obvious.

Huawei Executive Director Wang Tao said: "Over the past 30 years, Huawei has been working with customers and partners to create a full-scenario smart life for families, promote the intelligent upgrade of various industries, help the development of the digital economy, and make human life better. Based on our long-term investment in 5G, F5G, IPv6+ and other fields, today we released a full-scenario intelligent connection solution to make ultra-broadband networks more efficient and environmentally friendly, and make the future society more intelligent. In the future, Huawei will continue to strengthen basic research, continue to invest in the field of next-generation network technology, and work with all sectors of society to build a more low-carbon, efficient and intelligent world."

Industrial development requires the coordinated development of technology and business

At the conference, Ding Yun, Executive Director of Huawei and President of Carrier BG, delivered a speech on the theme of "+ Intelligent Experience, Connecting Industry Value", expounding on the value of connection from the perspectives of home, enterprise and carrier. Ding Yun said: "Business and technology have never existed in isolation. The development of an industry requires both technological support and business success."

For families, Huawei has extended connectivity from the home side to the user side, which can greatly improve home networks and user experience. For enterprise digitalization, its essence is to open up the enterprise's financial, human, material, information, and regulatory workflows, and connectivity is the blood of enterprise digitalization. For operators, Huawei will continuously optimize the network architecture to make it more agile and adaptable to enterprise business needs, thereby realizing the value of network characteristics.

"In the future, Huawei will work with operators to continue to innovate in deterministic experience, ubiquitous gigabit, and hyper-automated intelligent connection technologies. By realizing the value of home and enterprise scenarios, we will create an intelligent experience of the Internet of Everything and unleash trillions of value in the industry," said Ding Yun.

As a global flagship conference for the ICT industry in the ultra-broadband field, UBBF has been committed to building a sustainable ultra-broadband industry ecosystem. After being held in London, Madrid, Frankfurt, Hangzhou and Geneva, this year is the sixth edition.
