Little-known tips for ordinary users to install broadband at home

In the past two years, broadband has become a must-have for every household! The three major operators have successively reduced their speeds and advertised unlimited traffic. So do you know these unknown tips when installing broadband?

1. Broadband speed

What everyone is most concerned about is the speed of Internet access, which directly affects our network experience. First of all, operators all claim to provide 100M broadband, but in reality, our theoretical download speed can only reach 12.5Mbmb/S. Its unit is eight times the actual MB/S, so for a 100M optical fiber, the actual download speed is 10/8=12.5MB/S. Theoretical value: 1byte=8bit; Thunder download is the former, and operators are the latter.

2. Optical Modem "WiFi"

Generally, optical modems provided by network operators come with built-in WiFi, but in order to reduce complaints or repairs, the WiFi function will not be turned on automatically.

3. Network cable

Sometimes, when installing broadband, the network cable is not prepared enough. In order to deal with the emergency, the master divides one network cable into two. Although this can also be used for network transmission, it will definitely have a great impact on the network signal.

4. Upload and download speed

Generally, the upload and download speeds of home broadband are different, and you won’t feel the difference when using it normally. However, you can see a clear difference when uploading to email and cloud disk.

5. Dial-up address

In the past, Internet addresses were all public, but public addresses are scarce, so now they are all private. Of course, this has little impact on ordinary users, but it has a significant difference for users who publish Internet resources.
