Customer Introduction

Wuhan Aidi Group Co., Ltd. is located in Jiangbei National Private Science and Technology Park, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is a large-scale private knitting enterprise group integrating science, industry and trade. The company has been ranked among the top 10 in the national knitting industry in terms of sales, profits and taxes, and exports for many consecutive years, and has been ranked among the top 100 enterprises in terms of sales revenue and profits and taxes in the national clothing industry for many times; it has won honors such as "Wuhan City's Annual Quality Management Advanced Unit", "Wuhan City's Excellent Enterprise", and "Hubei Province's Excellent Private Enterprise". It is a large-scale private knitting enterprise group that has emerged in Central China.

In July 2013, Aidi Group became a national industrial brand cultivation demonstration enterprise. In order to create a new ecology for the traditional clothing industry, Aidi Group invested in the construction of a fashion industry park with a construction area of ​​over 100,000 square meters in the Huangpi Airport Economic Zone in Wuhan, aiming to build it into a modern manufacturing base integrating product research and development, marketing display, production and manufacturing, and logistics distribution.

Wireless coverage requirements of Aidi Industrial Park

In order to build an efficient information-based logistics distribution center, Aidi Group needs to provide full wireless coverage for the warehouse building and meet the following key requirements:

1. Coverage: There are 4 buildings in total, including 1st floor of Building A2, 5th floor of Building A3, 4th floor of Building A4, and 4th floor of Building B2, totaling 14 floors, with each floor covering an area of ​​about 2,000 square meters, providing full wireless coverage of the warehouse area;

2. All wireless APs are centrally powered by PoE, which is convenient for management. The AC controller is managed uniformly and the SSID is issued uniformly. When a fault occurs, the fault is easy to eliminate and the maintenance is simple;

3. The signal switching is fast when the handheld barcode scanner is moving. The received signal strength in the corner is not less than -70dB, and the received signal strength in the key area is not less than -60dB;

4. The network is stable, requiring the handheld scanning terminal to have low latency in pinging the IP of the storage server after wireless connection, and fast transmission of scanning information;

5. The wireless network is easily expandable, which facilitates the increase of AP number in the future;

Customer demand analysis

3. The wireless interference in the park is small, there is no need for high-density access, and 2.4G single frequency is sufficient

Solution Description

This wireless coverage solution does not provide Internet services, but only provides wireless access for handheld scanners and docking with the intranet storage server, so it is an internal LAN wireless coverage;

The 4 warehouses have a total of 14 floors with full wireless coverage, and each floor is about 2,000 square meters. In view of the large coverage area and the fact that customers mainly use handheld scanners for wireless access, a 500mw high-power single-frequency AP, VP450, is selected for wireless coverage. After testing, 4 VP450s on each floor are deployed in a parallelogram to better cover the entire floor and achieve the best coverage effect. A total of 56 APs are used in this project;

All APs are centrally powered by the Gigabit PoE power supply switch VS1510GP. One VS1510GP is deployed on each floor to provide centralized power to 4 APs. One Gigabit aggregation switch VS5326G is deployed in each building. The PoE switch in each building is connected to the aggregation switch VS5326G via a network cable. The aggregation switch VS5326G in each building (3 in total) is connected to the core switch VS5956G in the main computer room via optical fiber (see the topology diagram above for the connection between devices);

In view of the customer's need to add APs to expand wireless coverage in the future, VEC50 is selected as an integrated gateway and AC to centrally manage all APs and realize the unified distribution of SSID signals; VEC50 can manage 150 APs. 56 APs have been deployed so far, and there is still sufficient margin. On the basis of meeting the customer's number of devices, it can fully meet the needs of future wireless expansion;

The management IP of all APs is assigned by the AC controller VEC50, the IP obtained by the wireless access of the handheld terminal is assigned by the 10G Layer 3 switch VS5956G, and the internal storage server is connected to the VS5956G. The use of VS5956G can meet the customer's future network expansion needs at the core management level, and through the division of different VLANs and the setting of DHCP servers, different business needs can be met, such as warehouse computer office and multi-signal SSID distribution, to better ensure the concurrency of various business data traffic.

Operational results and feedback

Project debugging: All APs are uniformly configured and managed in the AC controller. The focus of this debugging is on the physical location description of each AP. The serial number of each AP is marked in the floor CAD diagram in the form of MAC address plus serial number. All 56 APs are online. By entering the location in the search bar, you can easily find the information of the APs located in each building, each floor, and each point, including online status, number of access terminals, channel acquisition, etc., realizing centralized management of APs, which is simple and convenient.

Signal test: The signal strength was -65dB in the corner of the warehouse. The signal strength in any corner of each floor was no less than -65dB, achieving full coverage.

Ping test: Through mobile phone wireless access, use ping software to test, the effect is as shown in the figure, the average delay is 11ms, the delay is relatively low, and the information transmission test is scanned by a barcode scanner, which can fully meet the customer's transmission needs.

In addition, Feiyuxing technical engineers also conducted centralized training for the staff of the Customer Information Department until the customer technicians were fully equipped with the basic maintenance capabilities of this wireless network.

The customer was very satisfied with the coverage effect, signal strength, network stability and operation speed of this project as well as Feiyuxing’s service attitude, and the project was successfully accepted!
