36.2%! H3C leads the Chinese campus switch market

Recently, IDC released the "China Ethernet Switch Market Quarterly Tracking Report (2022Q4)". The report shows that New H3C Group, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Unigroup, ranked first in China's campus switch market share in 2022 with a market share of 36.2%, once again demonstrating its leadership in the Chinese network market.

As a link between individuals, families and society, the park spans multiple industries such as education, medical care, public utilities, energy, and transportation. As digital transformation deepens, various application scenarios in the park are becoming more and more complex and diverse. In the construction of the park network, it is normal for multiple networks such as office networks, video networks, and production networks to coexist, which will lead to data islands and security risks between different networks. To solve the fundamental problem from the network architecture, enterprises need to build a converged underlying network architecture to enable multiple networks to be coordinated and unified.

In the face of different stages of network development, H3C Group has always insisted on driving product innovation with applications and technologies, providing end-to-end solutions and full-stack network products for users across the industry. In the campus scenario, H3C switch products are also accelerating changes in bandwidth improvement, multi-service integration, security protection, intelligent operation and maintenance, etc., to meet customers' needs for digital production and office.

Core Layer

Campus networks have gradually developed towards mobility, intelligence and high speed, which puts forward higher demands on the ultra-wide and integrated capabilities of core equipment. H3C's new generation of campus core switches, based on high-speed forwarding capabilities, can achieve the leap from 100G, 200G to 400G in one frame, and bandwidth upgrades are worry-free; the product integrates green design, adopts a data center-level midplane-free orthogonal CLOS architecture, and greatly reduces the energy consumption of the switch during use through technical innovations in port power consumption and power efficiency. The overall energy consumption of the whole machine is reduced by 20% compared with previous products, which is more low-carbon and environmentally friendly; at the same time, the product has the unified integration capabilities of security, wireless, and IoT, as well as the fine visualization capabilities of campus traffic, laying a solid foundation for intelligence and security for campus networks.

Convergence Layer

As the aggregation node of each functional partition in the campus network, during the digital transformation of the campus, the aggregation layer switch will undertake the data of various access terminals in the partition, and face challenges in integrated application, centralized management and security protection. On the basis of the traditional box-type aggregation switch, H3C innovatively integrates the expansion slot design, which can expand multi-rate uplink ports, firewall cards, network management function cards, etc., greatly improving the integration capability of a single device, and can realize wired/wireless unified management, firewall security policies, IoT access management and other management functions on a single device, realizing a true one-machine multi-function to meet the aggregation needs of different scenarios. In addition, for the deployment of all-optical networks, H3C uses innovative optoelectronic hybrid cable technology to achieve 60W POE++ power supply to access devices within a distance of 300 meters, easily realizing data and power supply with one line, and the wiring does not need to be replaced for 10-15 years, further protecting user investment.

Access Layer

In the process of campus network evolution, the access layer is the first product series to feel the needs of the scene and need to make changes. Whether it is the popularization of Wi-Fi6 and IoT technology, the implementation of the concept of all-optical access, or the harsh environment in industrial scenarios, access layer switches are needed to undertake. In the direction of product evolution, H3C has successively launched high-power PoE, silent access, all-optical access and other product series with strong scenario characteristics according to different usage scenarios, which perfectly meet the differentiated access needs of classrooms, dormitories, offices, wards and other scenarios.

In order to accelerate the layout and promotion of "Digital China", H3C Group will, under the guidance of the "Cloud Native" strategy, insist on using technological innovation as the development engine, uphold the core concept of application-driven networks, and build a solid foundation for the rapid development of the digital economy for all industries through continuously evolving solutions and products.
