Relevant data show that my country has built more than 700,000 5G base stations, the number of 5G terminal connections is close to 200 million, the number of 5G users exceeds 120 million, and the 5G network has basically achieved coverage in major provinces, cities and towns. On this basis, 2021 is undoubtedly a key year for the commercial development of 5G! So what are the national and local 5G plans in this year?

Nationwide

At the 2021 National Industrial and Information Technology Work Conference held on December 28, 2020, Xiao Yaqing, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, stated that in 2021, the construction and application of 5G networks will be promoted in an orderly manner, 5G coverage in major cities will be accelerated, and co-construction and sharing will be promoted, with more than 600,000 new 5G base stations built. At the same time, 10 key industries will be focused on, 20 typical industrial application scenarios will be formed, industrial 5G private network pilots will be carried out, and 5G millimeter wave frequency planning for some frequency bands will be released in due course.

Shanghai

According to the "Shanghai 5G Industry Development and Application Innovation Three-Year Action Plan (2019-2021)", the 5G industry is planned to achieve the "three 100 billion" goal in 2021, that is, the scale of 5G manufacturing, software and information services, and application industries will all reach 100 billion yuan; in addition, the number of 5G industry chain companies in Shanghai is planned to exceed 300. According to the latest "Shanghai "Dual Gigabit Broadband City" Acceleration Three-Year Action Plan (2021-2023)", 5G SA is planned to be fully commercialized in 2021, with deep outdoor coverage in the central urban area and suburban urbanized areas.

Guangzhou

According to the "Three-Year Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of 5G in Guangzhou (2019-2021)", it is planned to build 65,000 5G base stations in the city in 2021, achieve continuous 5G network coverage in the main urban area and key areas, and build a national leading 5G network. Actively support and promote the deep integration of 5G and industry applications, and focus on building a number of national application demonstration projects. Promote and support 5G application innovation and industrial incubation, realize 5G industry agglomeration in key areas, drive the development of key industries such as electronic manufacturing, software and information services, and artificial intelligence, and achieve an output value of more than 800 billion yuan.

Hefei

According to the "Special Plan for 5G Communication Infrastructure in Hefei (2019-2021)", the total number of planned 5G base station sites in 2021 will reach 10,644, of which the total number of original site reconstruction will reach 2,281, the total number of original site new construction will reach 4,502, and the total number of new sites will reach 3,861. The total number of planned communication bureaus will reach 446, and the total length of planned communication pipelines will reach 18,239.37 kilometers of pipe holes. Gradually expand the coverage of 5G networks, and 5G network planning will gradually expand from the initial key areas to urban areas, county towns, suburbs and other 5G vertical industry areas.

Zhejiang

According to the "Zhejiang Province Action Plan to Accelerate 5G Development (2020-2022)", by the end of 2022, the province will be built into a leading area for 5G network construction, a 5G industry development cluster, and a 5G innovation and application demonstration area. 120,000 5G base stations will be built, and 5G signals will be fully covered in townships and above, key administrative villages and important industrial parks, and the number of 5G users will reach 30 million. Breakthroughs will be made in a number of 5G key technologies, a number of 5G characteristic and advantageous products will be formed, more than 20 key 5G backbone enterprises will be cultivated, more than 10 5G industrial parks will be built, and 5G-related industry business revenues will reach 400 billion yuan.

Sichuan

According to the Sichuan Action Plan for Accelerating the Construction of New Infrastructure (2020-2022), by the end of 2022, the total number of 5G base stations in the province is planned to reach 120,000, the number of data center cabinets in use will reach 100,000, the number of networked devices will reach 10 million, more than 20 demonstration scenarios for blockchain technology applications will be built, more than 3 demonstration lines for vehicle-road collaboration will be built, more than 200,000 new energy vehicle charging piles will be built, 30 major scientific and technological infrastructures and more than 600 industrial technology innovation facilities will be built. The scale of the digital economy will reach 2 trillion yuan, accounting for more than 40% of the region's gross domestic product (GDP).

Hainan

In accordance with the basic idea of ​​moderately advanced construction, Hainan Province plans to steadily advance the construction of 5G networks in 2021 to ensure that the two major 5G construction goals required by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, namely "basic coverage of 5G networks in the main urban areas of Haikou, Sanya, and Danzhou in the province", and "basic 5G coverage of all island scenarios by April next year" proposed by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government are completed on schedule. It will also actively explore the integration of 5G and industry, and create a 5G application demonstration benchmark around key areas such as transportation, education, and medical care.

Hunan

According to the Three-Year Action Plan for 5G Application Innovation and Development in Hunan Province (2019-2021), by 2021, the province plans to basically complete 5G scale networking and realize commercial use, build a 5G broadband city cluster in Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan, and achieve 5G network coverage in the main urban areas, important functional areas and key application areas of other cities and prefectures; build about 10 provincial-level or above 5G technology or application innovation platforms; the "5G+" action plan has achieved initial results, creating more than 100 demonstration application scenarios; build about 10 5G innovation and entrepreneurship bases, and the scale of 5G-related industries exceeds 100 billion yuan.

Hubei

According to the Hubei Province 5G Industry Development Action Plan (2019-2021), by 2021, the province plans to invest 60 billion yuan in network construction, strive to build more than 50,000 5G base stations, achieve full coverage of 5G network in Wuhan, and full coverage of main urban areas in places with conditions such as Yichang and Xiangyang. Promote the East Lake New Technology Development Zone to become the national 5G innovation-driven core area, cultivate more than 20 5G R&D and manufacturing enterprises, one enterprise with a scale of over 100 billion yuan, and 3-5 enterprises with a scale of over 10 billion yuan.
